I’m John Severini, a PhD student at Georgetown University’s department of Government and a co-founder of Georgetown’s Initiative on Artificial Intelligence and Democratic Citizenship. My research primarily centers on technology, military effectiveness, and the relationship between the state and the private sector. I also write about political methodology, specifically focusing on mixed methods integration and the growing role of AI as a tool in social science. My work has been published or is forthcoming at International Security, Security Studies, and Oxford Intersections: AI in Society.
